Certainly looks like it might be of interest.
Seems to be emphasising display over accessibility though, would be nice to be able to see lists rather than icons and images, would make it easier to scroll through.

If you give his name it might help. To be a lieutenant in the Royal Navy you could not buy a commission, that only happend in the British army. To be commissioned as a lieutenant you had to have a minimum of 6 years service, at least two as a midshipman or master's mate be at least 20 years of age (...

There are two Thomas Haws, father and son. The son died in 1836. Don't have a birth date or any dates for the father.

Care needs to be taken. I think there are two Stainer Canhams, The foreman who died in 1826, and the shipwright who died in 1841. The master shipwright at Leith is almost certainly the later, who's will states " Inspector of Shipwrights in Her Majesty's Dockyard Woolwich" a grade way above...
