It is possible that multiple listing relate to a sinlge person where no definitive correlation between the two sets of data has been identified. This is most likely where the person has multiple roles, E.g. Naval and Merchant sailor etc. If you have a specific person in mind we can always review the...

OK, I've put a quick and dirty fix in until I work out a better display.

To view the picture you have to copy the URL and post it into your browser. I am not sure why you cannot just click on the address. The National Maritime Museum's search function is at [url]http://collections.rmg.co.uk/collections.html[/url] Because the url's are not secure. Only secure 'https' url...

Hi There was a Thomas England in the Royal Navy at that time, but he was a Lieutenant in 1809. see https://threedecks.org/index.php?display_type=show_crewman&id=6365. He is the only Royal Navy officer with that surname in that year. Another consideration is that General is not a Royal Navy rank....

I am aware of the distinction, but the software isn't.
One day I might find time to rewrite that part of the system and update the data to allow the display to be amended.
