Siege of Toulon 1793

Post by Prussian »

Samuel Lord HOOD commanded a British squadron that took sieze of Toulon in support of the royalists in 1793.

Many royalist sympathisers were evacuated who were fleeing the republican takeover of the town.

Which British ships were involved, what became of the refugees and did any join the British navy?

None of the letters viewed at The National Archives were helpful.
