Cape Roxant

Post by jon_ystrad »

I find mention of Cape Roxant in the Fougueux's logbook and when I Google all the useful results are from other 18th century ships logs.

But other than somewhere on the French Biscay coast I cannot find where it is

Has it changed its name now? Does anybody know where it is?

Thanks
Jon

I believe that Cape Roxant is a point at the entrance to the River Tagus, near Lisbon.

The only online reference I can find is in an 18C book on navigation here https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=I-J ... nt&f=false
OK, it was me, probably!

Thank you. That explains why I couldn't find it on the coast of France! They made quicker progress in their log than I had expected
