Spanish ship SAN RAFAEL

Post by AvM »

Perhaps somebody knows , when was the Spanish merchant ship SAN RAFAEL captured.
She was then registered at London #28 on 22 Jan 1799 303 15/94 master John Mather
as CHARMING KITTY
very probably owned from the begining by John Shuttleworth,
1810 armed 10x6pdr

Found what appears to be a goldmine for captured ships

Steel's Prize Pay Lists; new series ... Corrected to the first of April, 1805

Entry 1664 on page 118 lists Culloden, Theseus, Sea-horse, Alliance, Bull-dog and Perseus as having taken off Alexandria in February 1799 the Spanish brig San Raffael and the Genoese polacre La Vittioroso. The price money was paid out in 1802.
